Defending Our Second Amendment Rights
As a responsible and law-abiding gun owner, I hold a deep reverence for our Constitutional right to bear arms, a principle ingrained in me by my family's legacy in Law Enforcement. My father served as a Nassau County Police Officer, and both grandfathers proudly wore the NYPD badge, instilling in me a profound understanding of firearm safety and the importance of upholding our Second Amendment rights.
Current Challenges
In today's New York, under Governor Kathy Hochul's leadership, crime rates are soaring, and violent offenders are being released without bail, leaving law-abiding citizens vulnerable. Albany's failure to uphold its duty has allowed criminals to overrun neighborhoods, posing a direct threat to public safety.
Actions in Congress
During my tenure in Congress, I have taken concrete steps to safeguard our Second Amendment rights. I have championed legislation to overturn misguided regulations, such as the Biden Administration's ATF rule classifying firearms with stabilizing braces as short-barreled rifles. I also supported the Federal Law Enforcement Officer Service Weapon Purchase Act, allowing Law Enforcement Officials to acquire retired handguns for personal use at fair market value, provided they remain in good standing with their employer.
Budgetary Protections
Furthermore, I have been a staunch advocate for Second Amendment protections in budgetary matters, ensuring provisions are upheld that prohibit the denial of shotgun imports for sporting purposes and safeguard veterans' information from inclusion in the NICS database.
Commitment to the Second Amendment
Rest assured, I will continue to be a relentless advocate for preserving our Second Amendment rights in Congress. Upholding firearm safety and individual liberties is not just a duty—it is a commitment I will uphold unwaveringly. Together, we will ensure that the fundamental rights of law-abiding citizens to defend themselves and their families remain steadfastly protected.
